Here at Mission: St. Louis, you are more than ‘just a volunteer’- you are a member of our team and an essential part of the movement to transform our city. There are many ways to get involved and give our programs a helping hand! Choose a program below to see where your skills and interests fit in. Have questions? Contact

Beyond Jobs Volunteer

Volunteers will have the opportunity to work with men ages 22-35 as they become leaders in their workplace, community and families. Job & Leadership Training (JLT) has a variety of opportunities for volunteers.

As a JLT Mentor, you will be paired with a student in our Job & Leadership Training Program for one hour a week to help address roadblocks that are preventing them from being successful in the workplace and community.

We are looking for 4-5 volunteers, preferably former or current educators who are interested in HiSet tutoring for JLT students. This will take place Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6-9 PM.

On Monday and Thursday evenings we provide dinner for the students. The meals offer a time for community building as students and volunteers develop relationships over a nice meal. We need volunteers willing to either cook a meal, purchase food from a local restaurant or to provide money for the cost of a meal.

Revive Thrift Shop

Revive Thrift Shop shatters your idea of “thrift” by offering a curated mix of new and used goods, including clothing for men and women, shoes, furniture, home goods and jewelry.

Far beyond that, we support people who are reinventing themselves, transforming their lives by breaking free of poverty. At Revive, we provide job training, teaching good work habits and transferable skills. We teach tool literacy and furniture restoration through a partner company, Anew Nature, that has a workshop inside of our store.

Revive is looking for volunteers to help both in the store and online.  To get involved, fill out the Revive application by clicking here or visit their website at

Beyond School Volunteer

As a Beyond School Volunteer, you will work directly with the students focusing on anything from math and literacy and homework help, to participating in or leading enrichment activities such as yoga, spoken word or chemistry. You will be trained to deliver individualized assistance, ensuring structured academic time is impactful.

Group Service Projects

Are you part of a service fraternity, community group, work staff or group of friends that are looking for a way to give back? We are always looking for groups to come help us settle into our new home in North City. Spend a few hours with us learning about what we do while painting and preparing our new space for future growth.  You can also learn more about our longer service trip programs here

Volunteer Income Tax assistance (vita)

This program offers free tax help to people who generally make $54,000 or less, the elderly, persons with disabilities, and limited english speaking tax payers who need assistance in preparing their own tax returns. This important service protects people from fraud and/or exorbitant filing fees and gets refunds/returns processed accurately and timely.

In 2018 we will be providing services at St. Louis College Prep located at 1224 Grattan Street, St. Louis, MO  63104 on five alternating Saturdays from February-April.  Training will take place in January.
