Everyone needs a little help now and then. Sadly, for many of the residents we serve, a late bill or car trouble can mean a pay-day loan that comes with high interest rates and fees. While the short-term disaster may be avoided, a solution of helping these individuals and families stay clear of predatory loans continues to be a long-term problem. Enter Mission: St. Louis's microfinance program.
Our microfinance program reaches out to people who rely on payday loans to meet their short-term financial needs. Our goal is to take the non-banking customer and, through our relationship with Federal Choices Credit Union, help them gain access to all the benefits of being a bank customer. Change for Good is a lending program that is based upon relationships between the borrower and the organizations involved in the process. Our loans are short-term, report to the credit bureau, and help meet needs that are currently being met at usurious rates.
