In 2008, Mission: St. Louis made a move to start serving other neighborhoods besides Forest Park Southeast. As FPSE was served primarily by volunteers from The Journey - Tower Grove campus, we wanted a neighborhood for interested volunteers from The Journey - Hanley Road. We first served at Des Peres Elementary by hosting a school supply drive and getting to know the faculty and staff. Des Peres unfortunately closed only a year after our start there. In 2009, we moved to Ford Elementary, where we serve through our Morning Reading and Adopt-A-Classroom programs as well as through Ford Community Council and Open Gym. We continue to grow our relationships at this school and are excited about our work there.
